Abstract

North Central Timor Regency (TTU) is one of the regencies in East Nusa Tenggara Province with an area of 2,669.70 km2. There are three large tribes, namely the Biboki, Insana and Miomafo areas. Every region in TTU has woven cloth with distinctive motifs and distinctive woven colors. The spread of woven cloth craftsman groups makes it difficult for the public and consumers to find information regarding the location and data of each craftsman group. Because, there is no system used by the Department of Industry and Trade to distribute locations and information on potential groups of woven fabric craftsmen. Geographic Information System (GIS) is a way of distributing the location and information of an object appropriately to overcome problems experienced by the public and consumers. GIS can display locations and information related to groups of woven fabric craftsmen which are developed in the form of Web-GIS. This research uses a software engineering method with the Waterfall model which takes a systematic and sequential approach starting from the analysis, design, coding, testing and maintenance stages. This Web-GIS based system was built using the PHP programming language and MySQL database. This application produces a Web-based Geographic Information System for Mapping Woven Fabric Craftsmen Groups in North Central Timor Regency
