Abstract

Title Analysis of the Influence of the Number of Industries in the MSME Sector, Number of Population and Investment Value on Job Opportunities in the MSME Sector in Kupang City. This research aims to describe employment opportunities in the MSME sector in Kupang City descriptively, and to determine the simultaneous and partial influence between the number of industries, population, investment and labor on the MSME sector in Kupang City statistically. This research is quantitative in nature and is sourced. on secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The population in this research is all data related to research variables taken based on time periods. The sample in this research is data from 2008 to 2023. The data collected is then processed using the SPSS version 22 program, to see the results of descriptive statistics, linear regression multiple, classical assumption test, hypothesis test and determination test (R2). The partial test results show that the variable number of industries has a positive and significant effect on the MSME sector, as indicated by the t value > t table (3.322 > 2.0098) and a probability value of 0.009 < 0.05, the population variable has a positive but not significant effect on The MSME sector is shown by the calculated t value < t table (1.500 < 2.0098) and the probability value is 0.168 > 0.05, the investment variable does not have a positive influence on employment opportunities in the MSME sector, shown by the calculated t value < t table (1.800 < 2.0098) and a probability value of 0.105 > 0.05. Simultaneous test results show that the F-count value > F table (12.410 > F table 3.86254 and a significance value of 0.002 < 0.05) so it can be concluded that all independent variables have a positive and significant effect simultaneously on the MSME sector in Kupang City. Value The coefficient of determination in this study was 0.897 or 89.7%, while the remaining 10.3% was influenced by other variables not included in this study. Suggestions for further research are expected to identify other factors that influence employment opportunities in the MSME sector. Variables such as educational quality, government policies, and local economic conditions may have a significant influence and need to be considered.
