Abstract

Research Title: Dodo Culture as Community Social Capital in Supporting the Development of Ruis Village, Reok District, Manggarai Regency. This research was motivated by the fear of lack of community participation in village development. For this reason, gotong royong culture or dodo culture is one of the characteristics that has become down and down in Manggarai Regency as social capital to form cooperation and togetherness that can help solve problems together. Purpose This study examines the role of dodo culture as social capital in supporting village development. The dodo culture, which includes traditions, values, and social practices passed down through generations, serves as an important element in strengthening social bonds and solidarity. The theory used in this study is solidarity and beliefs, values and norms, social networks and cooperation.while the method used is a qualitative method with a desk approach The results of this study show that the dodo culture plays a significant role in building cooperation between residents, increasing community participation in Ruis village development activities, and facilitating peaceful conflict resolution. The social capital built from the dodo culture not only promotes the improvement of economic well-being, but also promotes environmental and social sustainability. In conclusion, strengthening the dodo culture can be an effective strategy in supporting the development of Ruis village.
