Abstract
This research is entitled Cadre of Women Politicians in the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) in Kupang City. The problem of this research is what is the cadre pattern of female politicians in the PDI Perjuangan in Kupang City. The aim of this research is to describe the cadre pattern of female politicians in the PDIP DPC Kupang City. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The variables in this research are the cadre formation of female politicians seen from the aspects of the principles and process of recruiting female politician cadres, the assignment of PDIP female politician cadres and the cadre levels followed by PDIP female politicians. The results of this research show that firstly, from a principled aspect, the recruitment process for female politician cadres is good enough that everyone can join the party if they have the intention and are loyal to the party. Second, the Kupang City PDIP DPC in nominating legislative candidates in the election has fulfilled the requirement of 30% female representation, however in this assignment there are still female politicians who have not participated in cadre formation. Third, there are female politicians in the PDIP who have participated in cadre formation, even up to middle level, but several female politicians have not or do not even want to participate in cadre formation for various reasons. Based on the analysis of research results, it was concluded that the cadre formation pattern implemented by the party was limited to tiered and programmed cadre formation. It is still found that female politicians assigned by the party have not participated in cadre formation. This proves that cadre formation is not considered to be an important thing. The recommendation given to the Kupang City PDIP DPC is that the cadre formation carried out is not only programmed and tiered but can make cadre formation a mandatory requirement for all party cadres, especially female politicians. For female politicians in PDIP to be more proactive, such as taking the initiative to register for cadre formation so that they are better prepared to carry out party duties when assigned to carry out responsibilities as party administrators or entrusted with holding political positions. Because the cadre formation stage not only opens insight, but also learns to understand ideology and principles within the party as well as analysis of strategic matters external to the party.
