Abstract

This research aims to determine the antioxidant and cytotoxic activity of plant extracts of Serut (Streblus asper L), Noni (Morinda Citrifolia L), Green Meniran (Phyllanthus niruri L), Gotu Kola (Centella asiatica L), and Snake Tongue Grass (Hedyotis diffusa Willd) . Phytochemical screening tests using the maceration method showed that extracts of shaved leaves, noni, green meniran, gotu kola, and snake tongue grass contain alkaloids, flavonoids, steroids, terpenoids, tannins and saponins. The antioxidant activity test was carried out using the DPPH method and vitamin C was used as a comparison. Meanwhile, the cytotoxic test uses the BSLT method. The research results showed that green maniran plant extract and shaved leaf extract showed antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of 13.11 ppm in the very strong category and an IC50 of 75.59 ppm in the strong category. Meanwhile, the results of the cytotoxic test showed that maniran hujau and shaved extracts had cytotoxic activity with an IC50 value of 61.57 ppm and 97.15 ppm in the toxic category.
