Abstract

This thesis is entitled "Empowering Village Government in Combating Stunting in Sisi Village, Kobalima District, Malacca Regency". Empowerment is the process of gradually making each group or individual independent to survive and develop. Village governments can help and identify the needs and obstacles faced by communities affected by stunting in efforts to implement stunting prevention programs. The village government's encouragement to reduce stunting rates also needs to be balanced with improving the community's economy. A stable community economy will automatically stimulate a gradual reduction in stunting rates. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative, which includes techniques for determining research informants, operational variables, data collection techniques, data analysis techniques. The research results show that (1) Financial limitations and accessibility of health services are the causes of high stunting in Sisi Village. (2) Parents who have stunted children face various challenges in accessing health facilities, ranging from distance, queues, to the availability of medicine and additional food. (3) The participation of the community and parents who have stunted children in decision making is not active enough. (4) The village has carried out its role in managing resources as a means of overcoming and preventing stunting from developing.
