Abstract

The main problem in thisresearchis the implementation of learning andits effect on students mathematics learning achievement using the problemsolving method. This study aims to determine the implementation of and the effectof problem solving methodsonstudents mathematics learning achievement on thesubject matter of theacademic year 2019/2020.The type of research used is quantitative research with experimentaldesign methods. Data analysis techniques used are descriptive analysis andparametric statistics using the help of the SPSS 22 program. This research wasconducted in SMP Negeri 1KotaKupang with a population of VII grade as manyas13. Sample classes of this study was VII Dclasses totaling 30 people who arerandomly selected from the populationwith simple ramdomsampling. Instrumentin this research namely observation and learning achievement texts in the form ofmultiple choice as many as 20 item.Based on the results of observations and achievement indicators obtainedstudent achievement is classified as very good. The T-test results showed that thetcount=18,228>ttable= 2,045 with a significance level of 5% which means that H0was rejected and Hawas accepted.
