Abstract

Land acquisition for public interest is a significant process that often leads to legal and social conflicts in Indonesia. This research conducts a normative review of the stages of the land acquisition process based on Law No. 2/2012 on Land Acquisition for Development in the Public Interest in Indonesia. By analyzing relevant literature and related legal sources, this research seeks to understand and explain the stages of the land acquisition process, as well as how these stages are implemented in practice. It also examines the legal and social implications of the land acquisition process on citizens. The results show that while the Law has some positive aspects in providing adequate compensation and legal protection to citizens, there are still challenges and controversial issues that arise in its implementation. The findings point to the need for further review and reform of the law to ensure the land acquisition process is fair and beneficial to all parties involved.
