Abstract

This article discusses the importance of having disability-friendly facilities throughout Indonesia, particularly in Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara. People with disabilities are a group of people who often experience discrimination and also lack access to public facilities. This article reviews the Law on Social Rights of Persons with Disabilities No. 8/2016 and Government Regulation No. 17/2018 and their implementation in the field. The article also emphasizes equality of rights and opportunities and stresses that other aspects of life such as transportation, education, and health must be accessible. The article shows that another accessibility provision is a map to identify possible locations of facilities that are friendly to people with disabilities per map implementation of Technology (Geographic Information System).
