Abstract

Januaria Yoneta Maria Tahu (31121005), with the tittle “ Leading Sector Analysis As A Basis Of Economic Growth In Timor Leste Border Areas (Case Studies In Belu, Malaka, TTU, and Kupang ).” Under the guidance of Mrs Dr. M.E Perseveranda,S.E.,M.Si as Supervisor I and Mr Adrianus Ketmoen, S.E.,M.M as Supervisor II. This research aims to analyze the leading sectors as the basis of economic growth in the border areas of Timor Leste with case studies in Belu, Malaka, TTU, and Kupang Regencies. The analysis method used is Decriptive Quantitative by using Static and Dynamic Location Quotient (LQ) analysis techniques , and also Shift Share (SS) analysis. The data used is secondary data, namely Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at constant Price in 2023 in each Regency, as well as economic growth data for 2019-2023 in each Regency taken from the central Statistics Agency (BPS). The results of the Static and Dynamic LQ analysis show that in Belu Regency, the leading sector is the wholesale retail procurement and car repair sector, Malaka Regency, the leading sector is the transportation and warehousing sector, TTU Regency the leading sector is the Agriculture, forestry and Fishenes sector, and in Kupang Regency the leading sector is the transportation and werehousing sector. The results of the Shift Share analysis show that in Belu Regency there are thirteen sectors that show competitive adventage because the results of the analysis are positive, in Malaka Regency there are fourteen sectors that show competitive advantage, in TTU Regency there are the sectors, and in Kupang Regency there are nine sectors of competitive advantage.
