Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the role of the Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Bengkel APPeK in Women's Empowerment in Oesena Village, Amarasi District, Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. The focus of this study is directed at two main aspects of empowerment, namely education and economy. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with interview, observation and documentation data collection techniques. The results of this study indicate that the NGO Bengkel APPeK has played an active role in providing skills training, gender equality socialization, and access to formal and non-formal education for women. Programs such as the establishment of women's business groups, literacy training, and policy advocacy have had a positive impact on increasing women's participation in village development. However, the implementation of the program still faces challenges, such as the strong patriarchal culture, limited infrastructure, and access to transportation. Therefore, collaboration between NGOs, the Village Government, and other stakeholders is very important to expand the reach and effectiveness of women's empowerment programs in this village.
