Abstract

This thesis is titled "The Political Network of DPD II Golongan Karya Party in Ngada During the 2024 Legislative Election in Ngada Regency." The problem statement in this thesis is: How does the political network of DPD II Golongan Karya Party in Ngada function in the 2024 Legislative Election in Ngada Regency? The researcher uses political network theory to address the research problem. Primary data sources consist of informants, while secondary data include documents related to the research variables. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis is carried out through data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and qualitative descriptive analysis. Research Findings (1) Interest Network – This refers to the representation of Golkar Party cadres in both the executive and legislative branches. Andreas Paru, as the Regent and Chairman of DPD II Golkar Ngada, leveraged the TANTE NELA PARIS program, creating a coat-tail effect that contributed to Golkar's victory in Ngada Regency during the 2024 election. The synergy between Golkar cadres in both legislative and executive positions, along with a well-structured organization, ensures the implementation of policies with direct benefits for the public. This not only strengthens ties with constituents but also enhances Golkar’s image as a party that provides concrete solutions for local needs. (2) Power Network – This is formed through a strong organizational structure, a wide cadre network, and active involvement in social and cultural activities. With 1,830 cadres spread across 12 sub-districts and 206 villages/urban wards, Golkar effectively reaches almost all layers of society. This structure enables well-coordinated campaign efforts, targeted political messaging, and the strengthening of emotional ties with the community through participation in traditional and social events. A robust grassroots network allows Golkar to listen to and convey the aspirations of the people, build public trust, and increase voter participation. Furthermore, partnerships with traditional leaders (Mosalaki) add strategic value, further solidifying Golkar’s political influence. Through this combination of strategies, Golkar successfully won public support and ensured its success in the 2024 election in Ngada Regency. (3) Sentiment Network – This relates to Golkar's long-standing history and positive image, particularly in the development sector. The leadership of Regent Andreas Paru and his flagship program, TANTE NELA PARIS, have had a direct and positive impact on the people, further strengthening public trust in Golkar during the 2024 election. Based on the analysis above, the author concludes that Golkar's victory in the 2024 Legislative Election in Ngada Regency was influenced by the Interest Network (benefits), Power Network (authority), and Sentiment Network (emotions).
