Abstract

The Kobe Dero song is an important part of the traditional Sagi (traditional boxing) ceremony performed by the Libunio Village community, Soa District, Ngada Regency by singing songs (traditional rhymes) while holding hands and stamping their feet back and forth around the bonfire. This harvest thanksgiving ceremony is one the traditional ceremonies that has been passed down from generation to generation and still continues today. The problems raised in this study are 1) How is the presentation of the Kobe Dero Song in the Sagi traditional ceremony in the Libunio Village, Soa District, Ngada Regency ? 2) What is the meaning of the lyrics of the Kobe Dero Song in the Sagi traditional ceremony in the Libunio Village, Soa District, Ngada Regency? This study aims to examine the form of the presentation and meaning of the Kobe Dero Song in the Sagi traditional ceremony in the Libunio Village, Soa District, Ngada Regency. This study uses a qualitative approach with ethnographic methods, the way to obtain data through observasion, interviews and documentation. The results of the study show that, 1) the presentation of the Kobe Dero song is done in groups by singing traditional pantuns in response to each other individually (solo) interspersed with parts of the song that are presented together. 2) Kobe Dero song has 2 meanings, namely denotative meaning which symbolizes togetherness, longing, criticism, and someone's relationship and there are lyrics that refer to nature such as gardens. while the connotative meaning in Kobe Dero song describes longing and emptiness without someone's presence, the instability of relationships between one and another and criticism of changes in the lifestyle of young people in this modern era. Kobe Dero song lyrics are not fixed because they are adjusted to the atmosphere or social conditions at that time which are expressed in Kobe Dero song.
