Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of income and price factors on other goods for the demand for iodine salt in the village of west oesapa coconut district five cities Kupang. This research was carried out in the village of west oesapa coconut district five cities Kupang. In this study the data obtained in the form of interviews in this study taken 30 people as samples and the data collected was tabulated. The analysis of this study is multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS program to examine the effect of income factors and the prices of other (ordinary salt) items on the demand for iodized salt. The result of the research from descriptive statistical analysis show that the average income (X1) 1756.67 price of other goods (X2) 7000 and demand for iodine salt (Y) 6400. And inferential statistical analysis shows that the independent variables X1, have a positive and significant influence X2 positively adn significantly affect the demand for iodine salt where the test F (1.202) dan test T (2.921) with R-Square (0,552) and as big 55,2% iodine salt demand is explained by factors nox examined. The suggestion of this research is (1) The government is expected to cooperate with related institutions in this case the health office and the industry department in order to socialize the benefits of using iodine salt (2) For consumers to always consume iodine salt because iodine salt is one of the minerals that is very important for the body.
