Abstract

An image is a visual representation of an object or several objects. Today the use of imagery in various fields of life is increasing rapidly. The increasing number of images causes problems in the image recovery process. This causes the process of storing and managing data in the form of images into things that cannot be underestimated. On this basis, an image retrieval system is built to facilitate image data management. Histogram- based feature extraction method is an alternative that can be used to answer the above problems. This method extracts visual features from the image by calculating the mean value of intensity, standard deviation, skewness, energy and smoothness of an image. For the distance calculation method, use the canberra distance calculation. This image retrieval system with texture-based feature extraction using this histogram is able to re- display all images in the database based on their similarity values with the query image, with the percentage of accuracy to retrieve the appropriate image by 74%.
