Abstract

The orphanage is one of the social welfare business institutions for neglected children by supporting and eradicatingneglected children. As part of the responsibilities of the East Nusa Tenggara Province(NTT) Social Service, the orphanage receives assistance for operational costs from the NTT Provincial Social Service. Some community groups choose to come directly to the Social Service to obtain information, but information obtained from the Social Service does not always match the needs of the orphanage with the assistance provided. Information about the orphanage that is not known with certainty, resulting in the distribution of aid is not on target, even though there are still many orphanages that are more in need. Therefore, it is necessary to create a Geographic Information System for Mapping Orphanages in the Province of Nusa TenggaraTimur on the basis of the Web so as to facilitate the NTT provincial Social Service in managing the data of the orphanage and facilitate the community or donors in finding information and the location of the orphanage in the proper distribution of aid.The system development model usedin this study is the Waterfall model. The map design that is displayed in this system uses the Google Maps API. The geographical information system for mapping the orphanage was built with the PHP programming language, andutilizing the MySQL database as a database server.This geographic information system for mapping orphanages in NTT Province is web-based giving results in the form of information to the public or donors about orphanages in NTT Province. The information presented on this website includesinformation on the location of the orphanage, details of the orphanage, and the needs of the orphanage.
