Abstract

Based on data in 2018, Don Bosco II Catholic Primary School has a total of 262 students. The school has difficulty in disseminating information to parents, because the information delivery system is still manual by using an invitation letter so that sometimes the letter does not reach the parents. In addition, parents have difficulty monitoring the development of student grades. Therefore it is necessary to engineer an SMS academic school information service application based on SMS Gateway so that all student academic information can be conveyed directly to parents. In this research, the Waterfall Model Structured Programming Method is used for software engineering development. This application was built using the PHP programming language and MySQL database. This research resulted in an SMS academic school information service application based on SMS Gateway that provides two services namely SMS Broadcast and SMS Request. This application can help the school to disseminate information more effectively and efficiently as well as being a good intermediary media for parents to get information in real time.
