Abstract
Research has been carried out on the processing of cow's urine waste from Class I agricultural quarantine centers into liquid organic fertilizer. The purpose of this study was to study the processing of cow urine waste as a material for making liquid organic fertilizer that is suitable for use, through fermentation of cow urine using EM-4 and additives in the form of brown sugar solution. The method used in this research is the fermentation method. Prepared cow urine waste which is divided into 5 parts (A, B, C, D and E), each as much as 800 mL.Sample A did not add any other ingredients. Samples B, C, D and E were added 80 mL EM-4 each. To the samples C, D and E also added a solution of brown sugar with successive levels, namely: 15%, 25%, and 35%. All samples were fermented anaerobically for 7 x 24 hours. The fermentation results were destructed, and Nitrogen (N) analysis for each sample was carried out by the Kjeldhal method. Phosphorus (P), and Potassium (K) from each sampele carried out by UV-Vis spectrophotometry methods. The results showed the content of Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium in sample A were: 0.0267%, 0.0000304% and 0.0010124%, respectively. The content of Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium in sample B are: 0.0266%, 0.0000312% and 0.0030425%, respectively. The content of Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium in sample C are respectively: 0.0100%, 0.0000367%, and 0.0036786%. The content of Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium in sample D were respectively: 0.0245%, 0.0000401% and 0.0037438%. The content of Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium in sample D are respectively: 0.0145%, 0.0000483%, and 0.0038669%. From these results it can be said that processed cow urine is not yet suitable for use as liquid organic fertilizer because according to SNI No. 02-6681-2002; the feasibility of liquid organic fertilizer which contains N, P, and K at least2%.
