Abstract

The purpose of this study is (1). To find out the price of clothing purchases at Kupang City Inpres Market (2). To determine the effect of income on clothing purchases at the Inpres Market. (3) To find out whether price and income are equally influential on clothing purchases. This study uses quantitative data that is data obtained in the form of numbers. Data Sources used in this study are primary data that is the source of research data obtained directly by researchers, with a significant level of 5%. There are 25 samples in this study and then processed using Eviews 10 which were analyzed with data analysis techniques, namely 1) Inferential Statistics consisting of multiple linear regression analysis. 2) Classic assumption test consisting of normality test, multicollinearity test, heterokedasticity test and autocorrelation test. 3) Hypothesis test consisting of t test, F test and the coefficient of determination (R2). The results of this study obtained price and income variables affect the demand for clothing. 1) Simultaneously the price and income affect the demand for clothes. This is seen from the results of inferential statistical analysis which shows the Adjusted R value of 0.876592 and the calculated F value of 4.046968. 2) Partially, the price and income variables affect the demand for clothing. This is seen from the results of the inferential statistical analysis above which shows that the t-count value of X1 is 2.468210. The value of t-count X2 of 2.245457 is greater than the t-table of 2.131428, which means that as prices and incomes increase, clothing demand also increases. Based on the research results above, it is expected that consumers will spend according to their needs and income.
