Abstract

The writing of this scientific paper aims to find out how much the effectiveness of the Discovery Learning approach on the subject matter of the reaction rate to the teacher’s ability to manage learning, the completeness of the indicators and the completeness of the learning outcomes of class XI MIA high school students in Muhammadiyah Kupang. The Discovery Learning approach is a type of learning where students build their own knowledge by conducting an experiment and discovering a principlenof the result of an experiment. Writing this scientific paper aims to improve and find solution to real problem in improving the learning process in theclassroom. The general problem of writing this scientific paper is how effective the application of Discovery Learning approach to the subject matter of the reaction rate. Data from the result of the field experience practice shows that the application of the Discovery Learning approach is effective towards learning. This can be seen from the teacher managing learning well with an average score of 3.7 in either category, completeness of the indicator with an average 0.84 and completeness of learning outcomes with an average of 81.46 with indicates greater than the value KKM determined. Thus, it can be concluded that the Discovery Learning approach can be applied in the learning process especially in the subject matter of the reaction rate.
