Abstract

The main problem being studied is how to apply the principles of good governance in improving the performance of employees in the West Malaka sub-district office, Malacca Regency. The objectives studied were to determine transparency in improving performance in the West Malaka sub-district office, accountability in improving performance and responsiveness in improving performance. The method used in writing this Scientific Paper is descriptive qualitative, data collection techniques used primary data in the form of interviews and secondary data. Regional Government is the administration of governmental affairs by the regional government and regional people's representative council according to the principle of autonomy and duty of assistance with the broadest possible autonomy principle in the system and principles of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia as referred to in the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia. Good Governance is an effort to improve the performance of public services at the West Malacca Sub-district Office which is one of the most important things in building a good government in serving the community. The purpose of this study was to determine the application of the principles of good governance in public services in the Office of the Head of the West Malaka Sub-district, Malacca Regency and to determine the inhibiting factors faced by the West Malaka Sub-district Office in public services. To obtain data in this study, the method used is qualitative research methods. The data collection techniques used were through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the application of the principles of good governance in public services in the Office of the Head of West Malaka Sub-district has not been going well, this can be seen from the application of the principles of good governance that are applied in the Office of the Head of West Malaka Sub- district not yet well structured, some people are still have not experienced maximum service, and some employees or staff still have low skills and lack of order. and the settlement process required by the community is not in accordance with what has been written in public service standards when it will be completed, and the West Malaka Sub-district Office does not have complete access to the application of the principles of good governance in public services. Therefore, it is necessary to apply the principles of good governance that are well structured, so as to be able to realize maximum public services for the people in the Office of the Head of West Malaka Sub-District, Malaka Regency.
