Abstract

The aims of the study are (1) to know Basic Food Inflation towards Economic Growth in East Nusa Tenggara Province. (2) to know the Economic Development in East Nusa Tenggara Province, (3) to know the influence of Basic Food Inflation towards Economic Growth in East Nusa Tenggara Province. This research used Quantitative Data and Secondary Data as the data source with significance level 5%. There were 10 samples in this study and then processed using Eviews 10 which were analyzed with data analysis techniques,namely 1) inferential statistics that consists of multiple linear regression analysis. 2) the classical assumption test that consists of Normality Test, Multicollinearity Test, Heteroscedasticity Test, and Autocorrelation Test, 3) Hypothesis Testing that consists of t-test, f-test and coefficient of determination (R2). The result of this study obtained a basic food inflation variable (X) with tvalue -0,218865. It had a significantly negative influence towards Economic Growth in East Nusa Tenggara Province. Simultaneously, basic food inflation (X) has an influence towards economic growth in East Nusa Tenggara with F-Value 6,047902 and its probability 0.032235. and the coefficient of determination (R2) 0.568304 or 0,05% variation of independent variable could be explained by variation of dependent variable in the amount of 56,83% the rest of variation of the variable was explained outside of the estimation model in the amount of 43,17% due to other elements that caused the influence. Based on the result of the study above hopefully 1) the Government is expected to be able to provide or issue policies that can control the level of basic food inflation as the high level of inflation has a negative influence towards economic growth in East Nusa Tenggara Province, 2) for further study it is recommended to add other research variable that can impact the economic growth so that it can increase the knowledge about other variable which is able to impact the economic growth.
