Abstract

East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), is one of the provinces in Indonesia that has a significant development in the world of fashion. This can be seen from the many interests in fashion products and the development of small industries that produce fashion products. The research conducted in this thesis aims to identify and analyze problems related to the development of the fashion world in Kupang City so that facility planning can be carried out according to the needs and demands of all parties engaged in the fashion world. This thesis is also expected to contribute theoretically to library development and further research on similar design objects at the Widya Mandira Catholic University Architecture Study Program.The guidelines used in the writing of this final project come from previous research and other literature sources that discuss various rules and concepts that are closely related to activities, users, space requirements and issues involving the fashion world. Based on the data collected by the author, such as the number of visits and trade in several shopping centers in Kupang City, it can be projected that in the next ten years the number of visits and facilities needed to support all needs involving fashion such as sales facilities, production facilities,training facilities,exhibition and event facilities. In planning and designing the facilities of the Fashion Development Center in Kupang City, it is also very important to visualize the design idea on the appearance of the building. The author designs based on the Architectural Metaphor approach so that the design results can accommodate all fashion activities and become an iconic facility in the city of Kupang.
