Abstract

Economic development aims to prosper the community. The progress of economic development can be seen from the economic growth in the area. By determining the leading sector, it can encourage economic growth. The economic growth of Ngada Regency in 2005-2019 fluctuated and tends to decline, it can be seen from the growth rate of GRDP of Ngada Regency in 2005-2019. Therefore,this study focuses on determining the leading sectors and their effects on economic growth. This study has the aim of analyzing the leading sector of Ngada Regency to be developed as a supporter of economic growth in Ngada Regency. The formulation of the problem in this research is: What are the leading sectors in Ngada Regency from 2005-2019? Is there a significant influence of the leading sector on the economic growth of Ngada Regency? What is the economic development strategy of Ngada Regency in supporting leading sector-based economic growth? The objectives of this study are 1) To find out what leading sectors are Ngada Regency in 2005-2019. 2) To determine the significant influence of the leading sector on economic growth in Ngada Regency. 3) To find out the economic development strategy of Ngada Regency in supporting leading sectorbased economic growth. The types and sources of data used are secondary data, namely the growth rate and GRDP at constant prices for 2005-2019. For the process and data analysis using LQ analysis (location query), shift share analysis and simple linear regression analysis with base sector (X1) and economic growth rate (Y). The results of the analysis showed that the leading sector in Ngada Regency for 2005-2009 was the agricultural sector, mining and quarrying sector, processing industry sector, building/construction sector, electricity sector, gas and drinking water and financial sector, rental and corporate services and for 2010-2019 are agriculture, forestry and fishery sector, mining and quarrying sector, processing industry sector, water procurement sector, waste treatment, waste and recycling, construction sector, financial and insurance services sector, government administration sector, defense and social security mandatory. The results of a simple linear analysis show the economic base sector has a positive and significant influence on economic growth. Stategi development 1) Development of excellent agricultural activities that have export value in order to accelerate the pace of economic growth and create employment opportunities. 2) Development and empowerment of small industries for the processing of agricultural products,livestock, plantations, and marine fisheries. 3) Develop a master plan for the development of clean water supply systems.
