Abstract

The University of Flores (Uniflor) is one of the state university in Indonesia which consists of 7 faculties and 16 study programs, of which 7 study programs have been accredited B. All new students at the University of Flores have the same opportunity to be selected. as a prospective scholarship recipient, therefore every year the university of flores will select all new students in each study program who get a quota of KIP-Kuliah Scholarships (Kartu Indonesia Pintar – College). The distribution of KIP Scholarships - Tuition is often not on target with the reason that there are cases of students who actually come from well-to-do families but receive these scholarships. In addition, there is no well- computerized system in determining scholarship receipts which then causes several problems in this manual system. In the implementation process, the University of Flores had difficulty in determining candidates who were eligible to receive scholarships because most of the applicants met all the criteria proposed, while the quota provided was limited. To overcome the existing problems, a KIP- Kuliah Scholarship Recipients Determination System was made using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) Method and several additional criteria were proposed that were more specific to help the selection process more accurately. So that not all scholarship applicants are accepted, meaning only those who meet the criteria. This system is designed web-based which is implemented using XAMPP with PHP programming language and for database using MySql. Thus the system created can help process data on prospective scholarship recipients quickly and accurately, so that the scholarships distributed are really intended for those in need.
