Abstract

Health is very important for every human being, especially for mothers and children. Maternal and child health efforts are efforts in the health sector that involve the service and maintenance of pregnant women, mothers in labor, breastfeeding mothers, infants and toddlers and pre-school children. Health is a human right and at the same time an investment for the success of nation building. Maternal death or maternal death is still one of the most important reproductive health problems. The high maternal mortality rate has a major impact on families and communities. Therefore, the maternal mortality rate can be used as an indicator of community welfare, especially maternal health indicators. Belu Regency As one of the regencies in East Nusa Tenggara, the Regency is currently actively improving the health status of the community. One of the work programs of the Belu Regency government "Towards a Healthy Indonesia", in 2015-2020 is improving public health, among others through increasing the quantity of public health service places in the form of clinics, polyclinics, hospitals and also other health services, such as Public Health Center and Integrated Healthcare Center. The theme chosen for the Design of the Mother and Child Hospital is Modern Architecture. This design contains an outline of the thoughts and concepts of physical design based on design guidelines which include Design Objectives and Objectives, Design Determinants, Activities and Actors of Activities, and Basic Philosophy. The basis of this architectural planning and design approach is intended as a reference that is used to prepare the basis for the planning and design program of the Belu Regency Mother and Child Hospital on the basis of: functional aspect approach, technical aspect approach, performance aspect approach, architectural aspect approach and approach contextual aspects.
