Abstract
This research was conducted with the aim of knowing whether the essential oils of Melaleuca viminalis, Eucalyptus alba, and Melaleuca leucadendra leaves contain 1,8-sineol compound and how much it is in the three types of samples. This 1.8 sineol compound has the potential to act as an antiviral for COVID-19. The method of extracting essential oils from plant leaf samples was carried out by steam distillation. Analysis of compounds and levels in samples using GC-MS. The results obtained were the essential oil of Melaleuca leucadendra leaves with a yield value of 0.329% and a compound content of 1.8-sineol of 46.47%. Astir oil from the leaves of Melaleuca viminalis with a yield value of 0.245% and a compound content of 1.8-sineol of 42.05%. The essential oil of Eucalyptus alba leaves with a yield value of 0.203% and a content of 1.8-sineol of 10.98%.
