Abstract

The existence of the market in Indonesia is not only an economic matter, but includes the content of space and social relations, heritage and culture. Even the presence of the market is evidence of a civilization that has lasted for a long time considering its historical value is so attached.The market is often considered as one of the infrastructure that brings a bad image to the aesthetics of the city. The current condition of the Turiskain border market is concerning in terms of the level of comfort, as well as the lack of facilities and infrastructure that are no longer feasible. However, the interest of the people who come from around the border area to shop at this market has not diminished even though the current development of modern markets in Belu Regency and the surrounding area is growing rapidly. Cheap and competitive prices of goods offered within the scope of traditional markets are the choice of shopping solutions for some people in border areas. Many traders from inside and outside Belu Regency depend on the results of their wares in this market. Due to the existence of the Turiskain Border Market which is very important in the economic development of Belu Regency, it is necessary to rejuvenate the Border Tourism Market in Belu Regency. By not eliminating the parts that are characteristic of the object, with the theme of Ecological Architecture which is more friendly to the surrounding environment, it is hoped that it can overcome the problems that are problems with the object and can bring back the market image into an icon or characteristic of the tourist-fabric Border Market. and provide economic progress in Belu Regency.
