Abstract
This type of research is a laboratory experimental design that includes a boiling point test, components of secondary metabolites including analysis of alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, steroids, and triterpenoids, tested the effectiveness of the extract in identifying acid-base properties in various test solutions, tested the effectiveness of indicator paper in identifying acid-base properties in various test solutions, and tested the stability and sensitivity of the resulting indicator paper. The results obtained were: 1) Red spinach leaf extract had a boiling point of 96% pa methanol at 72°C, 96% technical ethanol solvent at 88°C, and 103°C in distilled water. 2) Red spinach leaf extract has components of secondary metabolites in 96% pa methanol solvents, namely alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, and steroids, in technical ethanol solvents 96% namely alkaloids, saponins, and steroids, while in aquadest solvents are alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, and triterpenoids. 3) Red spinach leaf extract in 96% pa methanol solvent and distilled water was effective in identifying acid- base properties in various test solutions, while 96% technical ethanol solvent was not effective in identifying acid-base properties. 4) Red spinach leaf indicator paper in 96% pa methanol solvent was effective in identifying acid-base properties while 96% technical ethanol solvent was not effective in identifying acid-base properties. 5) The stability of red spinach leaf indicator paper on 96% pa methanol solvent and 96% technical ethanol solvent was able to last for 10 days while the sensitivity of indicator paper on 96% pa methanol solvent was able to provide good and clear sensitivity until the 15th day while technical ethanol 96% did not show good and clear sensitivity.
