Abstract

Mathematics with discovery learning model or "discovery learning" that students are more active work or activities to find a concept, the teacher as a facilitator or mentor so that students not only know, but also learn the process of discovering problems ahkirnya foster scientific attitude, such as careful or conscientious , and honestly based on facts and is able to think rationally. This study aims to determine whether there is influence of the model of discovery learning to learning achievement of mathematics sub system of linear equations subject of two variables eighth grade students of SMP Adhyaksa 2 Kupang academic year 2015/2016. The method used in this research is the design experiment with one group pretest-posttest. The data used in this research is the data value pretest and posttest of the experimental class with a model of discovery learning. The sample in this research is class VIII H, amounting to 24 people Based on the analysis using SPSS version 16.0. Prior to testing hypotheses, test prerequisite that the data normality test for pretest and posttest of data. From the analysis of the data obtained pretest sig. (2-tailed) = 0.379 > 0.05 and 0,199 < = 0.287, is H0 accepted, so concluded the data were normally distributed. While the data obtained posttest obtained sig. (2-tailed) = 0.764> 0.05 and 0,146< = 0, 287 then H0 accepted, thus concluded normal. Pengujian hypothetical distribution data using paired sample test, after the data were analyzed obtained value sig. sig.(2-tailed) = 0,764> 0,05 and sig.(2-tailed= 0,00 < 0,05) dan = 12,581 > = 0, 287 then reject H0.So that concluded there was a significant influence on the model of discovery learning mathematics achievement of students of class VIII SMP Adhyaksa 2 Kupang 2015/2016 academic year Based on the above conclusions discovery learning models show the effect on mathematics achievement. Therefore, the authors suggest for teachers to use the model of discovery learning in the classroom learning according to the material that will be taught
