Abstract

This research was written by Paula Agustina Novi Dato (31117116). Development Economics Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business under the guidance of Supervisor I, Mrs. Enike Tje Yustina Dima, SE., ME and Supervisor II, Mrs. Maria O.V. Moi, SE.M.Sc with the title Analysis of the Factors Causing Poverty in Larantuka City (Case Study in Ekasapta Village, Larantuka District, East Flores Regency). The formulation of the problem in this study is (1) What are the factors that cause poverty in Ekasapta Village,Larantuka District, East Flores Regency? The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that cause poverty in Ekasapta Village, Larantuka District, East Flores Regency. The type of data used is qualitative data. Data collection techniques are done by means of Questionnaires, Interviews, Documentation. The data analysis technique used in this data research is descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate that the factors that cause poverty in Ekasapta Village, Larantuka District, East Flores Regency are the low quality of human resources, costs, limited employment opportunities, education level, income, family life burden, natural resources, community involvement in receiving aid. policy funds by the government. Based on the results of the research above, it is hoped that the government needs to provide practical training for people with precarious jobs, to improve their standard of living.
