Abstract

The violin is a stringed musical instrument that is played by swiped and aligned with each other at quint /fifth intervals perfect. To sound the violin, it takes a tool that is used to swipe the strings called a bow . One of the things that must be considered in learning or playing the violin is the basic technique, because the base is a determinant of success in the next levels. To become a great violinist, of course, you must master the basic techniques of playing the violin, such as: holding the violin, holding the bow, swiping the violin, left-handed or fingering techniques, right-handed techniques, and some basic swiping techniques. others in playing the violin such as: legato technique, stacato technique. Based on observations through the initial observations that researchers did, students of music education at Widya Mandira Catholic University Kupang, they have not received violin courses. Based on description on could formulated the questions that become ingredient for studied in study this , namely how the process of implementing basic technique violin playing using drill and method imitation on student interested in violin in semester 4 of the study program education music . Study this aim for knowing process in p application basic technique violin playing using drill and method imitation . Results from study this show that process application basic technique violin playing using drill and method imitation on student interested in violin in semester 4 of the study program education Widya Mandira Catholic University Music , Kupang, walking with good . Results end from study this , participant can apply the basic techniques that have been trained into one song model with good however not yet perfect. Conclusion from study this is concluded that in process application basic technique violin playing using drill and method imitation participants can play the basic techniques and play the etudes in the violin game well and can apply the basic techniques of playing the violin into one song model although not yet perfect . In this study, there were several obstacles experienced by participants when practicing basic violin playing techniques, however that all could on with method used that is drill and imitation method so that they could understand with good application of basic violin playing techniques.
