Abstract

The guitar is one of the most popular musical instruments, from children to the elderly because of its melodious sound. There are many types of guitars, but the most common are electric guitars and acoustic guitars. Every school, especially high school, will give lessons to play guitar as one of the materials that must be achieved in arts and culture subjects, as well as students from SMA Negeri 2 Tasbar Atambua. Mastery of guitar ensemble music requires a number of prerequisites that must be met by students who have an interest in music at SMA Negeri 2 Tasi Feto Barat as one of the formal educational institutions that is concerned with educating quality prospective students between preparing skills in terms of guitar playing. This research is how the learning process of classical guitar ensemble playing with drill and imitation method. The purpose of this study is that the researcher introduces the technique of playing classical guitar ensembles. This research uses a qualitative approach and the method used in this research is field action. Data collection techniques used literature studies and field studies, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. This research was carried out in three stages, namely the initial stage, namely the recruitment of research subjects, the second stage, namely the core stage starting from the first meeting to the tenth, and the final stage i.e. final video capture or result. The results showed that the use of drill and imitationmethods really helped the research subjects master the material both in terms of knowledge and skills. This can be seen from the progress of the subject when compared to before the study. Students can master the guitar ensemble and then can play it well and correctly. There are several obstacles faced by researchers in teaching guitar playing such as fingering, mastery of the material and absence. So the researchers tried to deal with these problems with drill and imitation methods as well asevaluation of students. Based on the analysis and methods used by the researchers, it was very helpful in teaching the students, so that the process in the research could run well and correctly and students could play the classical guitar ensemble properly.
