Abstract

Proficiency in English language is needed in this modern era. Tecnological advances make the excuse that English should be taught since the child is still in elementary school. Student knowledge in the english language, especially in the introduction of a means of transportation is still very lacking. This is because the process of teaching and learning in school still conventional, where students are taught tu use printed books, picture books, and explanation of the material on the board. Which make students are less interested and did not understand what the material about. Multimedia development is the method that we use with some steps that must be followed correctly to produce multimedia learning that can be used easily by user. There are some stages in the development of multimedia such a (1) Concept, (2) Design, (3) Material Collecting, (4) Assembly, (5) Testing and (6) Distribution. Macromedia Flash 8 is a tool that we use in instructional development. This multimedia learning as learning media alternative to improve the interest of student of elementary school in learning activities, specially learning about transportation in English. Presentation the material which more interactive and innovative so as to enable the students to understand the material being taught.
