Abstract

The main problem in this research is about how the implementation of learning model and its effect on the problem solving ability of students mathematics taught using cooperative learning model Think Pair Share type on sub subject of rectangular in SMP Negeri 1 Kupang city academic year 2017/2018. The purpose of this research is to know the implementation of learning and the influence of cooperative learning model type Think Pair Share on the students' math problem solving abilities on the sub subject of Rectangular in SMP Negeri 1 Kupang city academic year 2017/2018. This research was conducted on VII grade students SMP Negeri 1 Kupang city which amounted to 28 students selected randomly from 11 classes available. The instruments used in this research are observation, interview and student problem solving test as much as 5 item in the form of description. Data analysis technique used in this research that is result of observation, result of interview, achievement of indicator and t-test. Based on the results of obs ervation, the results of interviews and achievement of indicators, obtained students' math problem solving skills are quite good. While based on t-test calculation shows t count = 32.632 and t table = 2.0518 at significance level 5% which means tcount> t table, then H0 rejected and Ha accepted. So it can be concluded that there is a significant influence on the use of cooperative learning model Think Pair Share type
