Abstract

This study aims to find out the attention of parents, intelligence and learning motivation toward the achievement of students of SMP Negeri 4 Kupang. This research type is quantitative research with path analysis method. The sample in this study is one class of five classes taken by using simple random sampling technique. The data collecting technique used is questionnaire and test achievement problem. The results showed that: (1) There was no significant influence of parents' attention on the mathematics learning achievement of SMP Negeri 4 Kupang students. (2) There is a significant influence of intelligence on mathematics learning achievement of SMP Negeri 4 Kupang students with a large contribution of 16%. (3) There is a significant influence of learning motivation on student's mathematics learning achievement of SMP Negeri 4 Kupang with 31,80% direct contribution. (4) There is significant influence of parent's attention on mathematics learning achievement through student's learning motivation with big direct contribution 0% and indirect contribution through learning motivation is 4.89%. (5) There is significant influence of intelligence on mathematics learning achievement through student learning motivation with big direct contribution is 16% and indirect contribution 6.61%. Thus to improve students' mathematics learning achievement can be started from the family environment, especially the attention of parents in the learning process of children and from the school environment through improving the intelligence (ability) of students through motivation to always learn.
