Abstract
The ability to solve problema is the main thing in realizing a good and productive teaching and learning process. In solving mathematical story problem there are several students who have known on determined the solutions/answers to the problem before write down the completion steps. This research is a qualitative research that aims to describe students intuitive thinking skills in solving mathematical story problems. This research is done by (1) Providing tests containing mathematical story questions to students, (2) Choose 3 students as research subjects, (3) Interview the research subjects based on their work to analyze students intuitive thinking skills in solving mathematical story problems. Based on the results of the study it was known, (1) high ability students fulfilled common sense thinking characters, (2) moderate ability students fulfilling the intuitive thinking characters power of synthesis, (3) Low ability students fulfilling the intuitive thinking character catalytic inference.
