Abstract

This study aims to determine what difficulties experienced by students in solving mathematical story problems in terms of how to solve Polya. This type of research is a qualitative approach. This research was conducted on students of Grade VII Fatuleu Middle School, which consisted of 2 people who often have difficulty in solving story problems. Data collection techniques in this study used test, interview and documentation techniques. The validity of the data is done by triangulation of methods, namely comparing test results and interviews. The analysis technique is done by correcting the results of student work to analyze the difficulties experienced by students who are supported by the results of the interview. The results of this study are students having difficulty in implementing plans and looking back.
