Abstract

Today, the art of music is categorized into two, one of which is vocal music. Vocal music is further divided into several categories, one of which is solo vocal. In order to sound more beautiful when singing solo, there are many vocal techniques that can be used, one of which is the falsetto technique. The falsetto technique is a vocal technique with a soft voice (piano), which is a technique that is quite difficult to master. The falsetto technique is a technique that when chanted is not supported by air pressure, and is easier to sing in the headvoice register. The application of the falsetto technique in pop solo singing has not been fully implemented in singing, including vocal interest students at SMA Negeri 1 Bajawa. The formulation of the problem in this study is how the process of applying the falsetto technique in singing solo pop with the Stay With Me song model from Sam Smit uses the demonstration and drill method for students of Bajawa 1 Public High School's vocal interest. The purpose of this study was to find out and understand the process of applying the falsetto technique in solo pop singing with the Stay With Me song model from Sam Smith using the demonstration and drill method for students of Bajawa 1 Public High School's vocal interest. This research is qualitative with the method used, namely field action. Data collection techniques using literature and field studies through observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed that the process of applying the falsetto technique in solo pop singing using the song Stay With Me was carried out through several stages starting with giving material, then doing vocal warm-ups, followed by practicing falsetto techniques, then applying falsetto techniques to song models, then practicing songs with the application of techniques. falsetto. In the final stage the students sang the complete song model using the application of the falsetto technique by recording the final result video. Based on the results of the research above, it can be concluded that the application of the falsetto technique in pop solo singing using demonstration and drill methods is quite effective in improving the singing skills of students' vocal interest in SMA Negeri 1 Bajawa. However, because the falsetto technique is a technique that is quite difficult to master, more practice time is needed to achieve maximum results.
