Abstract
The thesis entitled “The Effect of Academic Supervision, Teachers’ Competence, Teachers’ Work Motivation, and Teachers’ Work Environment on the Teachers’ Performance at Public Secondary High School 7, Kupang City”, is written by Angelica Agatha Sulla, Reg. No. 8112201007 MM, under the supervision of Dr. Cosmas Fernandez, SVD, MA and Dr. Ruminah, MM. Teacher performance is someone’s success level showed in his/her work ability to achieve the set goal. This study aims to know: 1) The respondents’ perception about academic supervision, teachers’ competence, teachers’ work motivation, teachers’ work environment and teachers’ performance. 2) The significance of effect of academic supervision, teachers’ competence, teachers’ work motivation, and teachers’ work environment partially on teachers’ performance. 3) The significance of effect of academic supervision, teachers’ competence, teachers’ work motivation, and teachers’ work environment simultaneously on teachers’ performance. This study is a descriptive quantitative research. The population in this research is 99 teachers at Public Secondary High School 7, Kupang City. The whole population is taken as sample. The data are collected by distributing a questionnaire and then are analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistic applying SPSS Program version 25. The results of descriptive statistics analysis show that the teachers’ perception on academic supervision is categorized as good (79.94%), teachers’ competence is very good (83,64%), teachers’ work motivation is very good (85,26%), teachers’ work environment is good (79,91%) and teachers’ performance is very good (86,72%). The results of t test show that academic supervision (0.000 < 0.05), teachers’ competence (0.034 < 0.05), teachers’ work motivation (0.046 < 0.05), and teachers’ work environment (0.032 < 0.05) partially have a positive and significant effect on teachers’ performance. The results of F test show that academic supervision, teachers’ competence, teachers’ work motivation, and teachers’ work environment (14,676 sig. 0,000 < 0,05 ) simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on teachers’ performance. The results of determination coefficient (R2) indicate that four independent variables contribute 35,8% on teachers’ performance and the rest of 64,2% is contributed by other variables excluded in this research. Based on these results, it is recommended to: 1) School Head of Public Secondary High School 7 Kupang City to reform educational process begun with psychological, cultural and social changes among learning agents; 2) all teachers at Public Secondary High School 7 Kupang City to continuously develop their competences in raising their performance.
