Abstract

Learning can be defined as an action that will allow students to learn. In an effort to assist the learning of mathematics students to mengkostruksi (build) concept-the concept or principle-the principle of mathematics on their own through a process of internalization of concepts and principles that woke again. Implementation of the learning process in order to provide space for students to argue , find solutions and build his own knowledge then to be able to improve learning achievement may use SAVI approach (Soimatis, Auditory, Visual, Intellectual). The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is difference in learning achievement of students taught by SAVI approach and conventional learning on the subject of integer sub class VII SMP. ST. Yoseph Kupang school year 2013/2014. This research is quantitative research is experimental research. The population in this study were all students of class VII SMPK. ST. Yoseph Kupang Academic Year 2013/2014 The sample selection is done in a random way. Selected sample of randomization VIIa class consisting of 30 students and VIIB class consisting of 30 students. Thus the sample size is 60 students. For statistical analysis of the data used pretest and posttest. Test the assumptions used in this study is the homogeneity test , test for normality using Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and hypothesis testing using t-test. Results of data analysis showed that there were differences in mathematics achievement of students taught by SAVI approach and conventional learning on the subject of integer sub class VII SMPK. ST. Yoseph Kupang.
