Abstract

Thesis title: the effectiveness of implementing role playing techniques through group guidance to increase student motivation. The problem studied is 1) Why can the role playing technique through group guidance be applied to increase student motivation? 2) What is the procedure for implementing role playing techniques through group guidance to increase student motivation? 3) Is the application of role playing techniques through group guidance effective for increasing student motivation? The aim is to find out: 1) the reasons for applying the role playing technique through group guidance to increase student learning motivation. 2) the procedure for applying the role playing technique through group guidance to increase student motivation. 3) the effectiveness of the application of role playing techniques through group guidance to increase student motivation. The study method used is library research. The objects of study are 1) role playing techniques 2) group guidance and 3). student's motivation to study. The data source used is a secondary data source. The type of data used is qualitative data. The results of the study show that the role playing technique is the right technique to use to increase student learning motivation, because the role playing technique helps students strengthen skills and provides direction to be responsible for their behavior. The role playing technique through group guidance is carried out in four stages, namely: formation, transitional stage, activity stage, with steps consisting of warming up, choosing participants, preparing observers, setting the stage, playing roles, discussion and evaluation, re-role playing, second discussion and evaluation, for experiences and conclusions. and the ending stage. The role playing technique through group guidance is effective for increasing student learning motivation as evidenced by the results of previous research articles that are relevant to the topic of this thesis. Based on the results of this thesis study, the researcher gives advice to 1) guidance and counseling teachers: it is expected to improve skills in using role playing to increase student motivation, 2). Researchers are expected to be more understanding and skilled in applying role playing techniques through group guidance to increase student motivation.
