Abstract

Mixed choir is a vocal music presentation by several people by combining four types of voices, namely soprano, alto, tenor, and bass to form a unified whole in singing. Based on the results of the researcher's observations, the children at the St. Lois de Monfort orphanage often follow the choir but they have never been taught about the application of dynamic techniques in singing. The problem formulations made by researchers to follow up on this problem are (1) how is the process of applying dynamics techniques to Eucharistic songs (2) how are the results of applying dynamics in Eucharistic songs. The objectives to be achieved in this study are (1) to find out the process of applying dynamics techniques in Eucharistic songs (2) to find out the results of applying dynamics in Eucharistic songs. The method used in this research is field action research method with qualitative research type. The learning methods applied were demonstration method and drill method. data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study show that the application of dynamics techniques in singing Eucharistic songs is carried out in 3 stages, namely: the initial stage, the stage of recruiting children who will be involved in the research process, the core stage, the researcher explains the material about the concept of dynamics, as well as the dynamics symbols used in Eucharistic songs such as Piano (p), mezopiano (mp), cressendo (<), decressendo (>), and forte (f). Then continued with etude exercises and sample songs to train children's habits in controlling the volume of their voices when singing. This research was conducted for 8 meetings until the final stage of video recording results. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the process of applying dynamics techniques in Eucharistic songs is carried out well in accordance with the plans and designs of researchers, the results obtained are after conducting the research process from the training stage to recording, namely the children of St. Lois De Monfort orphanage can sing Eucharistic songs using dynamics techniques that have been applied in the song sheet well, although there are some obstacles experienced. It is important to apply dynamics in the Eucharist song so that the message and meaning contained in the song can be conveyed well thanks to the application of dynamics carried out by researchers analyzed based on the form of the poem.
