Abstract
Ensemble is a type of playing musical instruments together consisting of several musical instrument players who play songs in groups using the same model of musical instrument. The main problems of this research are (1) how to process the application of arpeggios and apoyando techniques in playing guitar-like ensembles with model songs using imitation and drill methods and (2) how is cohesiveness and balance in playing guitar ensemble music using model songs in class VII and VIII students. Phaladhya Waiwerang Catholic Middle School. The aims of this study were (1) to be able to describe the process of applying the arpeggio and apoyando techniques in guitar ensemble playing with song models using the imitation and drill method, and (2) to be able to find out the cohesiveness and balance in guitar ensemble playing in class Vll and VIII students Phaladhya Waiwerang Catholic Middle School. The type of research used in this study is a qualitative approach, the method used is the field action method. To obtain data, researchers used library study techniques, field studies, and documentation. The results of the study showed that the learning process was carried out through the following steps: The initial stage was the first meeting where the researchers recruited students from SMP Phaladhya Waiwerang. In the second meeting the researchers explored students' abilities in playing guitar musical instruments, the researchers explained the aims and objectives of the research, explained about the guitar, provided material about ensembles such as arpeggio and apoyando passages. The core stage of the researcher provides an explanation of the process of implementing the game on a guitar instrument using the arpeggio and apoyando picking techniques. At the core stage, the research subject is required to be able to apply what has been learned to the model song. The researcher divided the students into groups based on their respective roles which were played based on the arpeggio and apoyando passages. The final stage of the researcher and the subject is to take the video of the performance. Based on the results of the research above, it can be concluded that the application of arpeggios and apoyando techniques in guitar ensemble playing with the Ina Maria song model using the imitation and drill method in class VII and VIII students of Phaladhya Waiwerang Catholic Middle School, East Flores Regency was successful and quite effective.
