Abstract

In every choir, of course, there is a conductor. Likewise with our children's choir. As a conductor or a person who makes directors, of course you need to know about the skills of the directors themselves. The problem encountered was that our children who were asked to become conductors did not understand the techniques in directors, especially directors 3/4. This refers to researchers to conduct this research. The purpose of this study was to find out the process of increasing the skills of 3/4 directors through a holistic method with the model song God Calls My Name in Sekami children in Fatululi A Region, Santa Maria Assumpta Parish, Kupang. The number of research subjects was 4 children. This research uses a holistic method in which this method encapsulates everything from the process of understanding to practice. And also the holistic method is closely related to child psychology. This method includes how researchers understand a child's psychology. The data collection process was carried out by interviewing the research subjects. The research was conducted in 7 meetings and 1 meeting to display the results. The results showed that there was an increase both in terms of understanding and skills of the directors of Sekami's 4 children who were the subjects of the study. The body that was initially tense becomes more flexible. Research subjects can start a song with good cues and can adjust the tempo of the director's song. In the closing technique, the research subjects showed a good closing technique. It can be concluded that the holistic method can improve our children's skills in directing, starting from the moment of giving the signal to enter the song to closing the song. Children can also show good and correct expressions as a form of appreciation for the song being directed.
