Abstract

In learning arts and culture, especially playing piano instruments at SMPK Santa Familia, students only play piano individually. They practiced scales and played songs but only the main melodies of the songs and had never played in an ensemble. The main problem in this study is how the process of playing pianika ensemble music playing with the song model "Mai Fali e" through drill and cooperative methods for class VIII students of SMPK Santa Familia Kupang. The purpose of this research is to find out the training process for playing pianika ensemble music with the song model "Mai Fali e" through drill and cooperative methods for class VIII students of SMPK Santa Familia Kupang. This research is qualitative in nature, the method used is field action. How to obtain data through field studies in the form of observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the study showed that piano playing ensemble training was carried out through a process that began with the researcher providing an explanation of the meaning of the ensemble and the type of ensemble to be played, namely a piano-like ensemble, then the researcher trained the students to play the G scale based on the examples given by the researcher. Next, the students were trained to play an etude and the next activity was that the students were trained to play the model song "Mai Fali e" in an ensemble. The process is that the researcher gives an example for the students to emulate and then takes the guidance of the researcher. The students are trained in each party repeatedly and then the students are trained to jointly involve the three parties until in the end the students can play the ensemble according to their respective roles. Thus it can be said that the training in playing pianika ensemble music with the song model "Mai Fali e" through drill and cooperative methods for class VIII students of SMPK Santa Familia Kupang has achieved good results according to the researchers' expectations.
