Abstract

Sa ha dance is one of the traditional dances originating from the Nagekeo region. whose various movements imitate the behavior of crows. This dance was inspired by the movements of crows created by local people in the past. This dance has simple movements that reduce students' interest in learning this dance. This makes researchers interested in modifying Sa ha dance to make it look more attractive. The main problem in this study is how the process of training modified Sa ha dance skills in class VII dance interest students of SMP Negeri 3 Aesesa, Nagekeo district. The purpose of this study was to determine the process of training modified Sa ha dance skills in class VII dance interest students of SMP Negeri 3 Aesesa Nagekeo district. This research is descriptive qualitative. The method used is field action. The data collection was done through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the modified Sa ha dance training for seventh grade dance interest students of SMP Negeri 3 Aesesa, Nagekeo district began with a warm-up conducted by the researcher and the six dancers, then explained the variety of modified Sa ha dance movements along with the floor pattern then practiced the variety of movements then the students imitated them and practiced repeatedly, the last stage is that dancers can master wirama, wiraga, and wirasa in modified Sa ha dance. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the process of training modified Sa ha dance in class VII dance interest students of SMP Negeri 3 Aesesa Nagekeo district can be done well, although there are various difficulties, but this can be overcome by using the imitation and drill methods.
