Abstract
Music as an accompaniment to the enene dance consists of 1 small gong (temirunen), two medium gongs (kolonen), and two large gongs (gong ina) and one gundang. The musical accompaniment pattern of this dance uses only one rhythm pattern and is played repeatedly so it seems monotonous. The author is interested in developing the accompaniment pattern by utilizing the traditional musical instrument gong ana as a substitute for vocals in the accompaniment music. The problem raised in this study is how to apply modified accompaniment music to the enene dance using the gong benada musical instrument for students at SMAK Frateran Podor Larantuka, East Flores Regency. The purpose of this study was to find out the process of applying modified accompaniment music to the enene dance using the gong benada musical instrument for students at SMAK Frateran Podor Larantuka, East Flores Regency. This research is qualitative and the research method used is field action. The learning methods used in this research are imitation and drill methods. In this study, two data collection techniques were used, namely field studies which included observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed that the process of applying modified accompaniment music to the enene dance for class XI SMAK Frateran Podor Larantuka students was divided into three stages, namely the initial stage, namely recruitment, the core stage which was divided into 3 sessions held 7 meetings, namely the introduction of musical instruments and their role in accompaniment. the enene dance, the session of combining the accompaniment patterns of all instruments in the form of playing together, the adjustment session with the enene dance moves and the final stage in the form of a performance. Each meeting begins with practicing musical accompaniment patterns for gong and drum strokes, while for pitched gongs, the researcher prepares a number notation for the Oro Lili dolo song to make it easier for students to play the melody of the song. Based on the results of the study, the researchers concluded that 1) through this research, the four students gained new experience and knowledge about musical rhythms which could be written using musical notes. 2) the four students get learning about music accompaniment from the enene dance. 3) the four students gain knowledge about the pitched gong musical instrument which can be used as a melodic musical instrument to replace vocals in dance accompaniment music.
