Abstract

The guitar is a type of musical instrument that is played by picking which is in great demand by students. Playing the guitar will not be perfect if you still don't understand how to play the guitar with good and correct techniques. The main problem in this study is how to introduce the arpeggio technique with the bolelebo song model using the imitation and drill method to students interested in guitar at SMPK.ST.YOSEPH NAIKOTEN KUPANG. The purpose of this study was to find out the process of Introducing Arpeggios Techniques on the Guitar Through the Imitation and Drill Methods. This research is qualitative, the research method used is field action. Data collection techniques used library research and field studies through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the implementation of guitar learning was carried out through 3 stages, namely, the initial stages of recruiting members of guitar players and determining practice schedules. The core stage, providing information about the arpeggio passage technique, continued with etude practice, then the participants were guided to play the song part by part which was preceded by an example by the researcher then imitated by the students and trained repeatedly until they were able to play the part well. Next, the final stage of this study, namely students presenting guitar playing. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the attempt to introduce arpeggio techniques to guitar playing with the Bolelebo song model song using the imitation and drill method for students interested in guitar at St.Yoseph Naikoten Kupang Middle School was successful, although not perfect.
