Abstract

This study is entitled “The Affects of Working Motivation, Working Environment, and Managerial Competence of the Principal to Teachers’ Working Achievement in SMKN 2 Kupang”. This reaserch was conducted and written by Yuliati with Resister Number 81122208 MM and supervized by Dr. Agapitus H. Kaluge and Dr. Drs. Kletus Erom, M. Hum. Working achievement of teachers is an ability of a teacher in doing teaching students in schools. Working achievement of teachers is affected by many factors, among other things, motivation, environment, and managerial competence of the principal. The topik of research is specified into three problems formulated as follows. (1) What is the condition of working achievement of the teachers, working motivation of the teachers, working environment, and managerial competence of the principal of SMKN 2 Kupang? (2) Do working motivation, working environment, and managerial competence of the principal partially affect the working achievement of the teachers of SMKN 2 Kupang? (3) Do working motivation, working environment, and managerial competence of the principal simultaneously affect the working achievement of the teachers of SMKN 2 Kupang? To know the conditions of the four variables then descriptive statistics analysis should be done. To know the significances of the affects of the three independent variables to one dependent variable then descriptive statistics analysis should be done. This research applie quantitative approach with statistic analysis. To decide the population of this research applied the tecknique saturated sampling, in that all members of population became the sample, in this case all 90 civil servants in SMKN 2 Kupang were chosen to be the sample. The data were obtained by distributing the quesionairs. Statistically there exist two research findings. They are deskriptive and inferential results. The results of descriptive statistic analysis are in forms of percentages of indicator achievements of the four variables. The variable of the teacher working achievement reaches the category of very good with indicator achievement of 87.02%. The variable of working motivation reaches the category of good with indicator achievement of 83.24%. The variable of working environment reaches the category of good with indicator achievement of 83.5%. And the variable of managerial competence of the principal reaches the category of good with indicator achievement of 79.3%. The result of inferential statististic analysis shows the partial and simultaneous affects of the three independent variables to the dependent variable. Partially the variable of working motivation (X1) has positive and significant affects to working achievement of the teachers (Y) with the tcount value of 6.57 and the Sig of 0.000 < α 0.05. The variable of working environment (X2) has positive and significant affects to working achievement of the teachers (Y) with the tcount value of 3.92 and the Sig of 0.000 < α 0.05. The variable of managerial competence of the principal (X3) has positive and significant affects to working achievement of the teachers (Y) with the tcount of 3.37 and the Sig of 0.003 < α 0.05. Simultaneously the three independent variables (X1, X2, X3) have positive and significant affect to the dependent variable (Y), working achievement of the teachers, with the Fcount value of 37.56 and the Sig of 0.000 < α 0.05. The contribution of the affects of the three independent variables is 56.7% and the rest, 43.3%, is determined by other variables that have not been included in this research.
